It was top notch unexpected drama earlier today at the 94th Academy Awards ceremony as Will Smith jumped on stage to slap the popular American stand-up comedian Chris rock for making a joke about Smith’s wife Jada Pinkett Smith, this came immediately Chris Rock said “Jada, I love you, G.I 2 can’t wait” and apparent reference to her short-crop hair.

The showdown brought the ceremony to an awkward standstill as Will Smith got back to his seat and shouted at Rock never to utter his wife’s name again and further shocking the already stunned audience by using the F-word.

Moments later Will Smith was called on stage as the winner of the Oscar Award for the best Actor of the year. This is Will Smith’s first Oscar Award after his over 3 decades acting career.

The Oscar was for his performance in “King Richard” as the fiery, flawed coach and father of Venus and Selena Williams.

He was nominated for the same award in 2002 for playing Muhammed Ali in the movie “Ali” and also in 2007 for his performance in “The Pursuit of happiness”.
